This photoshoot with Melvin was really interesting. We decided to do it very spontaneously, without overthinking, and Melvin took the lead in directing me. It was exciting because I discovered a part of Brussels I had never seen before — it truly felt like an adventure since nothing was planned.

First, we arrived at a very artistic subway station, and then we decided to wander around. We kept walking and walking, looking for interesting spots to shoot, and the result was an eclectic photoshoot full of unexpected moments.

Almost at the end of the session, we were stopped by a group of women from another culture. They were incredibly welcoming and invited us to have soup in their restaurant. When we stepped inside, I felt like I had entered another country — the whole atmosphere was so different from the usual Brussels city vibe. It genuinely felt as if I was traveling. The soup was, of course, delicious, and we even took a few pictures with it. That’s why this project is called “Soup Bowl”, inspired by all the spontaneous and diverse encounters we had in just one day.
